PLEASE READ: We are moving the community   02/15/18

Dear Community friends and family,   After great consideration, we are moving the Grandparents.com community to Facebook Groups effective March 15, 2018.   This wasn’t an easy decision, but we want to bring our communities together and believe the best place to do so is through Facebook’s groups feature. We’re so appreciative of you and the diverse conversations and opinions you have provided over the past 9 years. Your stories and amazing advice have helped so many readers, and have reached thousands of GP.com users. We encourage you to retrieve any information you want to retain as the forum will only be accessible by the admin after March 15, 2018. We’ve created a closed Facebook group called Mothers-in-Law Unplugged where we welcome you to continue the conversations around grandparenting, family, and in-law relationships, and any general topics we discuss here. As the group is closed and each user must be approved, your friends and family on Facebook won’t see any of your activity. Request to join the group here: http://bit.ly/milunplugged Thank you to all of our past and current users. You helped build our community, and we look forward to continuing to interact with you in the Facebook groups. If you have any questions about the groups and privacy, let’s chat about here:   Sincerely,   The Grandparents.com Team

Mysteries

5 posts in this topic

MIL used to love to read mysteries. Funny thing, I enjoy them, too - in the movies and on TV, but don't seem to have the patience for them when it comes to reading.

How about you? Do you like to read mystery stories/novels? And, if so, do you have any faves?

Hubby and I both read mysteries/"who done it's" regularly.  I cheat.  Often I flip back to the last chapter and find out "who did it" so I can be on the look out for all the "clues".  Hubby thinks I'm crazy, but that is "just how I am."

Nothing better than being totally wrong about who you think did what!!!  or blindsided by something that happens in a book.  I was in the beauty parlor (yes beauty parlor, the old fashioned kind) with my then 89 year old mother, when I was reading one of the Twilight books (don't judge me too severely for that) and gasped out loud when the Jake character imprinted on the new baby.....lol...The old ladies all looked at me like I had two heads.  I so love to read and read just about anything.  My ODGD who is in 1st grade is now becoming a big reader and it's doing my heart good to see one of my passions being enjoyed by her.

The 3 GK who can read do read a lot. #1 GB likes the Percy Jackson novels by Rick Roirdan. #2 likes the Minecraft novels. #3 is just starting the Harry Potter series. The younger kids like to be read to....GG#1 falls asleep within a few pages, but #4GS (age 3) sits up on the arm of the chair carefully turning pages for me....and pays attention to the end.
