PLEASE READ: We are moving the community   02/15/18

Dear Community friends and family,   After great consideration, we are moving the Grandparents.com community to Facebook Groups effective March 15, 2018.   This wasn’t an easy decision, but we want to bring our communities together and believe the best place to do so is through Facebook’s groups feature. We’re so appreciative of you and the diverse conversations and opinions you have provided over the past 9 years. Your stories and amazing advice have helped so many readers, and have reached thousands of GP.com users. We encourage you to retrieve any information you want to retain as the forum will only be accessible by the admin after March 15, 2018. We’ve created a closed Facebook group called Mothers-in-Law Unplugged where we welcome you to continue the conversations around grandparenting, family, and in-law relationships, and any general topics we discuss here. As the group is closed and each user must be approved, your friends and family on Facebook won’t see any of your activity. Request to join the group here: http://bit.ly/milunplugged Thank you to all of our past and current users. You helped build our community, and we look forward to continuing to interact with you in the Facebook groups. If you have any questions about the groups and privacy, let’s chat about here:   Sincerely,   The Grandparents.com Team

Perennial Movie List

58 posts in this topic

My list is going to totally out me as the perplexing softly split personality that I am coming to terms with lol.  One side of me is a HUGE military movie/action movie fan - so Tears of the Sun is a BIGGIE for me every year,13 Hours, Black Hawk Down,  Band of Brothers (though technically a miniseries). This year I've added to that list Dunkirk and 12 Strong,

Next segment of my movie personality is my space obsession - mostly Star Wars (4-8 and waiting on 9, not a huge fan of the pouty Anakin trilogy) and the newer Star Trek movies.

Then there is the other half of my geeky-ness. Marvel Movies - love them.

And then there is my nostalgic side - Sixteen Candles, Breakfast Club, Weird Science, Sure Thing, Goonies.

I LOVE movies. I think my newest new favorite from this year has to be Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. I haven't laughed that much in a long time!!

Military: We Were Soldiers, Braveheart, The Patriot- 2 Episodes of BOB, Day of Days and Bastogne -- I can't sit through the entire series anymore! My husband does-

Space / Sci-fi: Interstellar, Close Encounters, Guardians of the Galaxy, E.T., Hidden Figures, Independence Day, Alien, the first Star Wars movie, The Adjustment Bureau, The Day the Earth Stood Still, War of the Worlds, The Bodysnatchers, The Happening, all Godzilla movies, Men In Black -- anything Ray Harryhausen-

Also love Marvel Movies, totally loved Doctor Strange!

One of my all time favorite movie characters from the 80's is Spicoli!

The Breakfast Club....top of the teen flicks list...I thought Independence Day was a wonderfully made film...Randy Quaid was so brilliantly off the hook.

Breakfast Club, Goonies ,My Girl,  Beetle Juice, guess I'm thinking we watched them back with our kids. Love them !  John Wayne and anything with Clint Eastwood  have watched over and over with DH.

Just watched  The Way We Were, Witches of Eastwick, on cable . Another favorite Butch Cassiday and the Sundance KId.

There are so many great movies,  hard to choose !!!!
