Macular degeneration supplements/vitamins

5 posts in this topic

My doctor gave me some samples of Bausch & Lomb PreserVision AREDS 2 Formula. Of course since the sample is for 3-4 days, there is no way to no if they work. I was wondering if any of you have taken this or any other supplements meant for macular degeneration for a long period of time and if your doctor in subsequent exams said the showed an improvement or slow down of M.D.? I would spend the money if I knew they really helped.

My husband has been taking Ocuvite for two years which has slowed his deterioration considerably according to our eye doctor- He also makes sure to eat salmon several times a month- Do you know if your eye doctor can write a prescription for such a supplement? It's something I didn't consider until I read you post-

Also, if you have a certain type of HSA, I think you could purchase over the counter items with it- We cannot with ours, just prescriptions-
