What to do if you get a "Wrong Password" message   01/21/16

You must reset your password (even if you know it's the right one) before you can sign into the community. Thanks to the upgrade, there's an issue with passwords and signing in. The good news is that you can click here: http://community.grandparents.com/index.php?/lostpassword/ to change your password (it'll let you reuse your old one). If you can't reach the email address connected to your account then please contact the admin at latoya@grandparents.com and I'll help you sort it out.

Trigger moments

7 posts in this topic

If you're CO (cut off) from a family member/IL (or family members/ILs), are their moments when you find yourself missing them? Or, conversely, remembering the unhappy experiences that led up to the estrangement? Are there certain places, songs, videos, dates, etc. that trigger these (good or bad) memories?

My only CO (VLC on my end, who know what's on hers) is from Bratty Cousin...I'm on to her, she knows it and is hiding from me behind a wall of bullying disdain. When she finds out I'm responsible for her dad rewriting his trust to protect everyone equally she's really going lose it. :good:

We do a bit of bbq grilling and once in a while DH makes the comment, "too bad my parents are such jerks, it would be nice to be able to invite them over for dinner." So no set dates, places, etc. for us.

Because my ILs were all so outspoken and narrow-minded about politics, race and religion, there's plenty o' triggering, LOL!

Christmas, for me, is still a very tense time. I enjoy the holidays more, now that I've been able to distance myself from them, but I still feel guarded. And any time I see a text or call from them, my stomach tightens.

Oh yeah, If I ever saw MIL was on the phone in later years with caller ID...I just didn't answer.  Self-protection is good.

Absolutely.  When my younger brother in law birthday or the anniversary of his death comes around I get very angry with his older brother and that family all over again....
